Do you like the way your teeth look?

Your smile is the focal point of your appearance. It can influence how the world perceives you. It can affect how you feel about yourself. Today's Dentistry can offer a range of procedures from moderate to high cost that can improve your appearance and in the process improve your ability to chew and enjoy food.

Here is a short description of procedures that can enhance the way you look:

  1. Professional cleaning and good home care creates tight, pink, healthy, soft tissue and is needed to look good. Recent studies have shown the connection between good oral health and the prevention of other potential health risks.
  2. Restore stained/leaking fillings with tooth colored fillings. Replace missing teeth.
  3. Whitening- chair side and take home procedures are offered. For most people the most cost effective way to improve their smile.
  4. Orthodontic care straightens teeth and aligns your bite. It takes from 12-24 months in most cases. Normally some type of retention is needed after movement is completed.
  5. Porcelain Veneers can change position, size, and significantly lighten the shade of teeth.
  6. Porcelain Crowns are needed if you want to make more significant changes in tooth position or if you have large restorations in the teeth in question. You may also have to replace old, unattractive, or defective crowns in the smile zone.

In order to discuss a treatment plan for an individual, records and examination need to be done by Dr. Brown and his staff.

Some things to think about:

  • Look in the mirror to see which teeth are in your smile zone. Many times it's not just the upper six front teeth.
  • All esthetic dentistry must take function (your ability to chew food properly) into account. This will be better for your health and make the esthetic restorations last longer. For some people this means work must be done on the back teeth in order to make your front teeth look great.

Initial Oral Examination
Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations. We will also update x-rays, for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth.

Implants
Implants are synthetic structures that are placed in the area of the tooth normally occupied by the root. Implants are anchored to the jawbone or metal framework on the bone and act as a foundation for an artificial tooth or permanent bridge. In some cases, implants can be used to attach dentures. Crowns and Bridges
Crowns are synthetic caps, usually made of a material like porcelain, placed on the top of a tooth. Crowns are typically used to restore a tooth's function and appearance following a restorative procedure such as a root canal. When decay in a tooth has become so advanced that large portions of the tooth must be removed, crowns are often used to restore the tooth. Read More...
